Shopify has launched a free app by the name ‘Shopify Search & Discovery‘ to enable merchants customise their search filters, create and edit products synonym groups and feature products in the search and recommendations of shoppers.
With the help of this app, merchants can put options for search, filters and recommendations on their storefronts. It can be a useful feature for all merchants preparing their store for the upcoming BFCM 2022. Improve Discovery Experience
Shopify Search & Discovery is available for free on the Shopify App Store. It promises to help driving sales to store as you can easily customise storefront search and discovery experience for shoppers. The app also ensures search results for all queries as it allows you to make groups of search keywords. With this, the right products will come up in search results no matter what spelling shoppers type.
The app also claims to increase an average order value by improving the product discovery with the help of a customized recommendations engine. This options can be placed in any of the product pages.
Who Can Use This App?
Launched on July 25, Shopify Search & Discovery app can only be installed on either OS2.0 theme or custom storefront or custom Liquid based online stores. “Search features, such as product boosts and synonyms, are not compatible with custom storefronts that use the Storefront API,” Shopify explained on its app page.
In a short span of time, the app has received mixed reviews from Shopify merchants. With 10 five-star ratings and 12 one-star ratings, Shopify Search & Discovery is rated 2.9 out of 5 on the app store.
