Shopify founder Tobi Lütke participated in Humaans, an HR-Tech startup’s, Series A funding round. The London-based company raked in $15 million in the round led by Lachy Groom with Exor with participation from Slack founder Stewart Butterfield, Exponent Founders Capital, Niantic COO Megan Quinn, BOND General Partner Jay Simons, Peakon founder Phil Chambers, former Slack CPO April Underwood and former Asana CRO Oliver Jay.

European Expansion
The company’s existing investors Frontline Ventures, Next Play Ventures and Moonfire continued to extend their support. The latest funding round brings total funding of Humaans to $20 million.

“We’re excited to be able to draw on the expertise of some of the best operational and product thinkers from Silicon Valley who have invested in our vision. This funding round will accelerate Humaans’ expansion into the European market and enable us to further invest into Product and Engineering,” The CEO added.
This latest funding came after Humaans’ seed round in 2021 in which the company raised $5 million from Y-Combinator, LinkedIn’s ex- CEO Jeff Weiner and several angel investors from Stripe, Figma and Workday among others.Some of the fastest scaling companies such as Pleo, Manyone, Birdie and Pento are among Humaans’ client list.

“Our goal is to automate the full employment lifecycle and turn complex manual processes, such as onboarding, offboarding, promotions, compensation management, and more, into simple workflows,” the company mentions on its website. Humaans offers human-centric approach to HR-related things and claims to reduce “onboarding time by an average of 55% and administrative work by 65 percent”.
