Shopify Translate & Adapt, a localisation tool compatible with Shopify Markets, was launched on September 14, Wednesday, along with Shopify Markets Pro. Sharing the news on its website, the company stated that the fresh launch is meant to facilitate a much smoother cross-border commerce for Shopify merchants. This will enable them to grow their global market without any kind of complexity. Shopify Translate & Adapt is now available worldwide.
International commerce is all about offering a localised seamless experience to consumers. Shopify Translate & Adapt that works both with Shopify Markets and Shopify Markets Pro will help in localizing customer’s journey as quickly and accurately as possible. The new tool will translate the information on an online store in different languages. Different shipping terms can be created for different market. As per Shopify data, translating content increases gross merchandise value from local buyers by 13 percent.

- Machine And Manual Translations Of Store Into Different Languages: Shopify Merchants will now be able to translate their e-commerce store within a click. The page can be translated using auto-translate. Manual editing can also be done to improve the content so that it reaches more multilingual customers.
- Adapting Custom Content: Custom content can be adapted for different markets. Variations in dialects and languages are available. For example, while switching from American English to British one, merchants will be able to “pants” to “trousers”. Different shipping terms can be created for each market, for example- minimum spend to get free shipping. Changes can be done to product description in order to show a country’s preferences in a better way. Customer inquiries can be channeled in a better way by adapting content in contact page or FAQ.

Shopify’s Focus On Cross-Border E-Commerce
According to Shopify, more than 175.000 merchants are using Shopify Markets. “Shopify Markets Pro is our native merchant-of-record solution powered by our partnership with Global-e that makes it simple for Shopify merchants to expand their businesses globally to 150+ countries overnight,” the company mentioned on its website. For the unversed, Shopify Market, a service for international selling was launched last year.
Lately, Shopify has been focusing on cross-border e-commerce. The company recently rolled out Shopify Payments and Shopify Shipping in France. During the release of second quarter results, Shopify President Harley Finkelstein stated that international selling should be as easier as selling domestically.
