Build Black Virtual 2022, the annual virtual event of Shopify, is back. This year it will be held on September 28, Wednesday at 2.00 pm. Monique Rodriguez, CEO of Mielle Organics, a hair care and beauty brand will join the event. Registration is open for the Build Black event.

Along with Mielle, this year event will feature adwoa beauty, Dallas, TX-based hair texture brand and Abeille.
Build Black Virtual 2022: Bringing Blacks Together
The event aims to bring Black entrepreneurs together and offer them a platform to share stories of success and lessons learnt during the journey. Build Black is an ‘encompassing, educative and engaging conversation series that brings leading, multi-faceted business minds together,’ states Shopify.
According to the e-commerce giant, the goal of this virtual event is to engage with Black entrepreneurs and support their businesses. It also aims to act as a ‘catalyst for continued growth for Black entrepreneurship’.
Shopify’s Commitment
Recently, Shopify collaborated with online marketplace FLOURYSH to support 1 million black-owned brands. This collaboration enabled blacks get a 120-day of free trial instead of the usual 2 weeks. FLOURYSH provides them with educational programmes, tool, tricks and tips from experts to reach the right shoppers.
Merchants will also be able to benefit from the exclusive access to Black Building Community of Shopify, where they can get to interact with other successful Black entrepreneurs using Shopify to promote their businesses. Apart from an elevated online profile, brands who join Shopify via FLOURYSH will be able to get access to potential media exposure and strategic partnership.

Shopify and Operation Hope have joined hands to help create one million black businesses by 2030. Operation HOPE was founded in May 1992 by John Hope Bryant.
