Shopify has partnered with India’s prominent payments platform Paytm to help merchants receive secure payments through its Payment Gateway service. Launched in June 2021, the Paytm Payments platform has developed a latest checkout technology for Shopify merchants across India to rapidly grow its sales.

Capturing Indian Audience

Recently, Shopify partnered with Interakt to provide Indian users with a special shopping experience on WhatsApp this coming festive season. India’s festive season, which includes festivals like Navratri and Diwali, witnesses a growth of sales in physical as well as e-commerce stores. Shopify aims to attract India’s consumers with partnerships like these.

Helping Shopify in its ecosystem for the development of small merchants growth, we present you an easy guide on integration of Shopify and Paytm.

Set up Paytm Payment Gateway on Shopify

Step 1: The integration starts with finding Paytm Payment Gateway on the Shopify Dashboard. For this, click on the ‘Settings’ option and select ‘Payments’ from the left side of the screen. Now, select the ‘Add Payment Methods’ option and search for Paytm Payment Gateway using the ‘Search by Provider’ section.

Step 2: Once you find the Paytm Payment Gateway option, select it and click on the ‘Activate’ option.

Step 3: Now, proceed further by clicking on ‘Connect’ and then choose the ‘Install app’ option.

Step 4: Once installed, you will be directed to the Paytm for Business dashboard, where you can create a Merchant ID by filling up quick details.

Step 5: Fill up click your business and bank details and click on ‘Proceed’ to activate your Merchant ID with an initial limit of up to Rs.50,000 per month.

Step 6: You will be redirected to the Shopify dashboard, where you need to click on the ‘Activate Paytm Payment Gateway’ option.
