Shopify named Elevar as its preferred checkout partner app to ensure no compromise to user privacy, secure e-commerce customer data and track conversion rate of marketing channel. Elevar Tag Management Suite is available for $50 per month on Shopify App Store.

The app works on latest Shopify Application Programming Interface (APIs) to maintain smooth conversion tracking of marketing channel. It comes with enhanced security for checkout experience and user privacy.

We believe Shopify will begin requiring all merchants to adhere to the new extensions and APIs in 2023.

Shopify’s Bet on Elevar

With Shopify’s trust and backing, the preferred app aims to help direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands save consumer data safely and conversion tracking data. The practice will be done as per GDPR and CCPA privacy standards.

“There’s a clear sense of urgency for merchants. We believe Shopify will begin requiring all merchants to adhere to the new extensions and APIs in 2023,” Brad Redding, founder and CEO at Elevar, said as quoted by prnewswire.com.

“Thousands of DTC brands using the Shopify eCommerce platform rely on us to ensure 99%+ conversion tracking on Elevar’s Server-Side solution, and the good news for those merchants is there won’t be any interruption to their tracking,” Redding added.

Accuracy For Ads

To make digital advertising easy for merchants, Elevar provides accurate data. “Many industry trends are making digital advertising harder today for D2C brands: iOS, fragility in client-side tracking, Google’s transition to GA4, and GDPR compliance to name a few,” Ashvin Melwani, CMO and co-founder at Obvi, said.

“Elevar has built a best-in-class reputation in the eCommerce space, inspiring unrivaled trust and data accuracy confidence,” he added.

Server-side Tracking

Around 43 percent of internet users in the United States block online ads. By 2025, the number is expected to rise to 75 percent, as per Gartner research. In the time to come, users will look for enhanced security for personal data saved online.

Elevar will also support server-side tracking with upcoming update for much accurate lower funnel events for Shopify Plus stores. This will also allow Shopify merchants to track checkout events.

Data privacy has come on the top of Shopify’s priorities. In September, a report claimed that Shopify‘s password policies are weak on the customer-facing front. Research published by Specops claimed that the requirement of Shopify is that passwords should have at least five characters and there shouldn’t be space in the beginning or at the end.

The researchers analysed one billion breached passwords and came to the conclusion that 99.7 percent adhere to Shopify’s requirements. Some of the examples of breached passwords that meet these requirements include- lunabelle, luckygurl, loveok, lovehate16, login666.
