Pinterest has launched a new streamlined conversion process aimed at helping Shopify merchants boost their in-stream sales. The ‘Hosted Checkout’ offers a completely new shopping experience by removing multiple tedious steps from the checkout process. This will make the purchase process faster and easier for users to buy direct from Pin listings.
Hosted Checkout: What Does It Offer?
The latest offering is being launched first through Shopify. Hosted Checkout will not only make purchasing easier but also make it simpler than ever for merchants as well. It enables customers to choose all the important product order information within the application, thus saving the time from switching back to the merchant website to make the purchase.
“When someone shops from a product Pin with hosted checkout, they pick the exact product they want – think colors or sizing. Then, they tap “Buy” to enter the hosted checkout experience via Shopify. From there, it’s just a matter of final details like shipping and payment,” Pinterest mentioned on its website. In a beta study, +3.9% lift was witnessed in the purchase propensity and a +2.7% lift in checkouts of the shoppers who used hosted checkout as compared to who didn’t, wrote Pinterest on its website.
What’s There For Shopify Merchants?
According to Pinterest, “Product Pins will also get boosted organic distribution in places like the Pinterest home feed, search and shopping surfaces”. Thus, merchants will keep reaching more people, getting chances to improve results. Hosted checkout help merchants acquire new customers for their brand. They will be able to receive order and customer information, and can efficiently manage other things such as order status updates and support. This provides you more control over brand integrity and customer relationship throughout the sale.
Eligibility
Hosted Checkout is currently limited to select US merchants who are a part of the Pinterest Verified Merchant Program and sell their products via Shopify on Pinterest. Those eligible will be able to see the hosted checkout option at the top of the shopping settings in their Shopify app. If you see the option, all you need is to turn it on, and you are set to go.
