Tabarnapp acquired by Staytuned

American software company Staytuned Digital has completed the acquisition of a Shopify apps provider company Tabarnapp. With its base in Montreal, Tabarnapp provides Shopify merchants with apps that enable Automatic Discounts on the checkout page.

Four Apps Provided by Tabarnapp:

  1. Automatic Discounts & Gifts: This is the first of four apps provided by Tabarnapp on the Shopify App Store. While it is available as a free to install app, merchants are advised to opt for an advanced plan costing $49.99/month. The reason is that Tabarnapp charges 2.9 percent of success fee from merchants using the basic plan. In the other plan, Tabarnapp charges only 0.6 percent success fee apart from a base monthly fee of $49.99.
  2. Carter ‑ Discount code in cart: This app allows online shoppers to apply discount codes or gift cards in cart just before checkout. Its free plan comes with a three-day free trial. After the three days trial, merchants can upgrade to Basic Shopify plan, which costs $7.99/month.

The advanced version of Carter comes with features like:

  • Single-click setup: This means that the app can be installed within the Shopify store using one single click. No specific knowledge of coding is required to use this app.
  • Visible discounts: To avoid abandonment of carts, Shopify merchants can use this app and show discount fields on cart page and ajax cart. To show all discount codes, merchants can link them all under the Checkout button.
  1. Milestones ‑ VIP discounts: This is an app that allows merchants offer loyalty discounts to the customers that come under VIP category. This classification helps customers retain loyalty for the brand. After a trial period of three days, Shopify merchants can opt for the Pro plan starting at $14/month. It allows Shopify stores to process up to 10 sales in a month.

For those who think big, Tabarnapp offers a Growth plan for $49/month. This version allows merchants to process from 11 to 50 sales in a month. For the bigger thinkers, Milestones comes in an Unlimited plan for $99/month. There is no limit on sales processing under this plan.

  1. Ultimate Upsell & Cross‑Sell: This is the most premium Shopify app offered by Tabarnapp. It allows merchants to upsell individual products in formats like à la carte, bundles and subscriptions. Following a seven-day trial, the app can be used for $19.99/month. One can upgrade from the basic plan with a cost of $29.99/month. While the advanced plan of Ultimate Upsell & Cross‑Sell comes at $39.99/month, Shopify Plus merchants make the most of Tabarnapp’s app with a further upgrade to $49.99/month.

Staytuned has acquired Tabarnapp but the amount of the deal has not been disclosed. Tabarnapp is led by CEO Derek Morin to create effective tools for revenue driven by discounts, upsells, and cross-sells.

Staytuned Digital is not only known for acquisitions but also for building apps to help Shopify merchants scale their business. In a press release, Tabarnapp claimed to have served more than 20,000 e-commerce merchants.

In July, Staytuned Digital acquired Evey to help Shopify merchants make most of their live events. Shopify app Evey allows merchants to sell event tickets directly from their online store.

Navi Hehar, VP of Corp Dev of Staytuned was quoted as saying by prweb.com that Evey app will help merchants like Moonshot Games, Kpop Nite and 1Picasso100euros to sell live event tickets using Shopify. The app will allow them to establish a direct relationship with customers.

“The set-up on Evey is a breeze, nearly any merchant can get this installed, customized, and live in just a few minutes. We are especially proud of applying our streamlined acquisition process—this was one of our fastest acquisitions, taking just four weeks from discussing terms to signing the deal,” Hehar said.

Quick Access to Profit

In August, Staytuned entered into a strategic partnership with OpenStore, which is one of the largest aggregators of Shopify stores. The main motto of this partnership is to help entrepreneurs have quick access to profit.

Talking about the collaboration, Lauralynn Drury, VP of Digital Experience at Staytuned said, “Similar to us, OpenStore is concentrating on entrepreneurs building businesses on Shopify.
