Gadget, the developer productivity platform company, announced a new feature, Connections that will ease the work of app developers. They will have access to building blocks which will help them quickly build and scale e-commerce apps and that too at a fraction of the cost. The first Connection which rolled out on Thursday is for developers building Shopify apps, later more Connections will be launched in the coming months.
Using Gadget Connections is at least 4-5x faster than setting up an app manually. Time that would normally go into making the project performant, secure and scalable is saved.

No Code For Business
“With Connections, developers can now skip the laborious task of building their own integrations to ecommerce APIs. Rather than getting bogged down with weeks of menial, boilerplate work, Gadget developers can instantly connect to any of the 1.7 million Shopify stores, without any code,” said Harry Brundage, co-founder and CEO of Gadget.
“Using Gadget Connections is at least 4-5x faster than setting up an app manually. Time that would normally go into making the project performant, secure and scalable is saved,” said Simon Barnes, Technical Director and Partner at Made and Bound.
How it Works?
Last year, Shopify’s partner ecosystem generated a revenue of $32 billion, more than 45 percent from the last year. As businesses continue to venture online and expand their services, they are finding that relying simply on out-of-the-box functionality from e-commerce providers like Shopify won’t be enough. In order to make a mark and offer the best shopping experience to their customers, brands are willing to spend more money and time on building customised apps. Having said that, building e-commerce software is not a piece of cake. It comes with its own set of challenges that require careful navigation. Besides technologies and APIs, app developers need to consider other factors like data storage requirements, performance and scalability and additional security concerns that come forth during financial transactions.

Gadget resolves major concerns of developers by arming them with a bundle of tools meant to get their work done rapidly in a cost-effective way. Skipping a week of tedious work, connecting apps to e-commerce platforms will be a few clicks away for developers. This boost the confidence of developers to go live with their apps as they know any volume of data can be handled.
