Show Me The Parts, an aftermarket auto parts website, has announced its integration with Shopify. With this, Show Me The Parts wants to capitalise on the power and flexibility of online selling. Unlike third-party e-commerce platforms like Amazon and eBay, Shopify allows merchants set up their online store to sell directly to end users.
“We’ve created a simplified front-end product fitment finder powered by ShowMeTheParts data,” the company said as quoted by aftermarketnews.com.
ShowMeTheParts is the industry’s largest catalog of automotive, heavy-duty, power sport, marine and agricultural parts for applications as far back as 1901.

Customer Experience
With a Shopify store, Show Me The Parts can now ensure a smooth customer experience. Reducing competition among its users, Show Me The Parts will focus on customer satisfaction by selling through their own custom branded store.
Show Me The Parts comes under the ownership of Vertical Development Inc., which claims to have 30 years of aftermarket experience. According to its website, Vertical Development provides software solutions that “take the heavy-lifting out of your mapping and catalog efforts while maintaining the highest quality”.
GCommerce Tie-up
Recently, Show Me The Parts had partnered with GCommerce to develop a unified parts catalog and B2B ordering solution for the automotive aftermarket. The company features over 350 brands and ensure fast turnaround.
“ShowMeTheParts is the industry’s largest catalog of automotive, heavy-duty, power sport, marine and agricultural parts for applications as far back as 1901,” Jay Wright, president and CEO of Vertical Development, said.
“Our partnership and product integration with VIC from GCommerce makes it easier and faster to capture additional sales for drop ship or special orders. All of the look-up, locate and ordering functionality is delivered through a single interface that marries VIC with ShowMeTheParts,” he added.
What is Automotive Aftermarket?
It’s a business type in which the company provides services like distribution, manufacturing, remanufacturing, retailing and installation of automotive parts. Besides parts, some automotive companies offer solutions for equipment, chemicals and accessories as well. It is the secondary market of automotive business as service is provided after the sale of new vehicles.
“Aftermarket parts are divided into two categories: replacement parts and accessories. Replacement parts are automotive parts built or remanufactured to replace OE parts as they become worn or damaged. Accessories are parts made for comfort, convenience, performance, safety, or customization, and are designed for add-on after the original sale of the motor vehicle,” the International Trade Administration in the US Department of Commerce explains.
Why Choose Shopify?
Canada-based Shopify provides tools and platform to merchants to set up their online store. No prior knowledge of coding is required to build a Shopify store. With a healthy Shopify ecosystem, including app developers, agencies, designers, freelancers and affiliate marketers, merchants can easily sell locally manufactured products across the internet.
It’s not even expensive to set up an online store on Shopify. You could start a business at the cost of a chewing gum. Recently, Shopify introduced its Starter Plan for $5. “Our new Starter plan lets you get a business up and running for the same price as your local transit fare – with money to spare. There’s never been a better time to start experimenting with creating and selling,” Shopify said on LinkedIn.
Shopify’s Starter Plan ensures a no code easy setup. It is “perfect for sharing products across social,” mentions the website. One can also opt for a free 14-day trial before starting the $5 plan.
